The Samsung Galaxy M54 appeared in the Middle East back in March, and is now finally available in Malaysia too. Samsung had quietly listed the midrange device on their official Lazada store, complete with a Facebook post advertising it and it’s availability from 12 December onwards.
Samsung Galaxy M54 Malaysia pricing and availability
According to the Lazada listing, the Samsung Galaxy M54 will come in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Priced regularly at RM2,099, it is currently on sale for RM1,599 until the end of 14 December 2023. On top of that, as part of the launch offer, Samsung is also giving early bird buyers eight free clear cases, worth a total of RM312.
Samsung Galaxy M54 specs
The Samsung Galaxy M54, like its name hints at, actually shares quite a lot with the more mainstream Galaxy A54. For instance, the Galaxy M54 has the same Samsung Exynos 1380 system-on-chip as the Galaxy A54, together with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage; expandable storage is also possible via a microSD card slot.
It also comes with Android 13 out of the box, skinned with One UI 5.1 over it. You’ll find a 32MP, f/2.2 front facing camera for all your selfie needs, and support for WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and 5G just like the standard Galaxy A54.
That’s where the similarities end though, as Samsung has tweaked things a fair bit with the Galaxy M54. For starters, the Galaxy M54 has a larger 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, pushing a FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s also a different camera setup on the back, with the Galaxy M54 coming with a main 108MP, f/1.8 camera flanked by an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide and a 2MP, f/2.4 macro sensor. Keeping the lights on is a larger 6,000mAh battery too with 25W fast charging.
Nevertheless, with an official price tag of RM2,099, the Galaxy M54 is a little bit more expensive than the Galaxy A54, which has a recommended retail price of RM1,899. However, it’s current promotional price of RM1,599 does make the Galaxy M54 a bit more of an appealing smartphone especially if you’re in the market for a midrange Samsung device.
