After months of waiting, Shell Recharge’s EV chargers at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur are finally available to use. These chargers are located just behind the Tesla Superchargers and are open to all EVs regardless of brand.
Located at B1 underground carpark (Pillar C 11) of Pavilion KL, this Shell Recharge location has a total of four bays – two for DC and another two for AC charging. The EV chargers are listed as available on the ParkEasy app, and some users have already checked in on PlugShare.
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Shell Recharge x ParkEasy EV charger pricing
As we’ve seen earlier, the Shell Recharge EV chargers are using kWh-based pricing for this location. The 60kW DC charger is priced at RM1.50 per kWh, while the 22kW AC charger is priced at RM1.00 per kWh. Like most other Shell Recharge x ParkEasy chargers, there’s a RM5.00 confirmation fee and an idle fee of RM1 for every 5 minutes which will be imposed 15 minutes after charging has been completed.
As a comparison, the nearby Tesla Superchargers which are capable of doing DC fast charging up to 250kW are priced at RM1.25 per kWh. However, they are currently exclusive to Tesla vehicles only.
Shell Recharge deploys 60kW DC and 22kW AC charge points
The Shell Recharge Pavilion KL location uses a 60kW Starcharge Athena 60 DC fast charger with two CCS2 nozzles, which is similar to the one used at Go To-U charging hub at Cyberjaya. Depending on the configuration, the DC charger’s hardware can push 60kW with a single EV or 30kW when two EVs are plugged in. For its AC charging bays, the location utilises a 22kW Starcharge Saturn AC charger with two Type-2 nozzles.
What’s interesting is that this Shell Recharge location has no parking barriers. To secure your spot, you can reserve the chargers 10 minutes in advance via the ParkEasy app (Google Play Store, Apple App Store).
