Asus has just confirmed online that it will be releasing the next model in its ROG Phone model line-up via teasers on social media. Named ROG Phone 8, the phone should be coming sometime next year according to online reports.

The phone is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (it was spotted on Geekbench with the new SoC from Qualcomm last month). Other than that, we don’t have any confirmation on the other specs of the phone. However, if following precedence, we should see at least 12GB or more RAM on board when it ships next year.

The teaser image, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) shows the back of the phone, and it seems that the ROG Phone has finally bowed to pressure and included a substantial camera bump on the back of the phone. On the other hand, the bump also shows three cameras and a flash, and it is not as big as, say, the Oppo Find N3. No more flat back like the ROG Phone 7.

When enhanced, the camera bump is clearly seen, as well as the second USB-C port

Asus also looks like it retained the USB-C port on the side of the phone, which makes it easy to charge when playing in landscape mode. The company shared a tagline, “Beyond Gaming” which suggests Asus is serious about promoting the phone as more than just a gaming phone this time around.

There are no exact launch dates announced yet, but we should get some indication of the date in the next few weeks. A CES 2024 launch is also in the cards as the event is set to start on 10 January 2024, which is just a few weeks away from the publication of this piece.
