It is official – the OnePlus 12 is heading to the Chinese market for consumers to purchase. The OnePlus 12 is the successor to the OnePlus 11, and better yet, we are getting the phone globally in early 2024.
Quoting the President of OnePlus China, Louis Li – “All in one, the OnePlus 12 delivers an exceptionally fast and smooth experience in all high-frequency usage scenarios. It is OnePlus’ best gift to users for its tenth anniversary.”
OnePlus confirms that the phone will be shipping with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which promises a faster CPU (up to 30% improvement) and GPU (up to 25% improvement). It will be paired with the latest LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage. Not forgetting, OnePlus’s RAM-Vitalization and ROM-vitalization, the brand’s technology to expand the phone’s RAM and internal storage will also be shipping with the phone.
The phone will also come with the new 120Hz 2K Super Fluid AMOLED display with LTPO technology, which OnePlus promises will have a peak brightness of 4500 nits. That is bright enough for normal use in bright daylight.
For power, OnePlus includes a 100W SUPERVOOC wired charging, 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging, and a dual-cell, 5,400mAh battery that should last the whole day, especially with the new Qualcomm processor.
Like the previous reports, the OnePlus 12 will be a beast of a smartphone, in particular in the imaging department. The main camera is the Sony LYT808 50MP camera – the same camera in the OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3. OnePlus 12 also features Omnivision’s OV64B 64MP 3X periscope telephoto camera and the Sony IMX581 48MP ultra-wide camera. In short – it is the same camera suite as the Oppo Find N3.
Something new with this model is the new colourway called Flowy Emerald. Building from the traditional OnePlus colour, it now includes texture embedded into the glass to give it a different look when compared to previous OnePlus flagships.
OnePlus 12 is launching in the China market on 11 December 2023, and comes in black, emerald green and white colors. The preorder pricing in China starts at CNY 4,299 (about RM 2,811) for the 12/256GB model and maxes out at CNY 5,799 (about RM3,792 ) for the version with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage.
We should be getting a global release sometime in early 2024.
