The Honor X9b 5G only recently debuted in Malaysia, boasting ultra tough durability with a sub-RM1,500 price tag. If you were keen on it for yourself but had been holding back on pulling the trigger, you can now get the Honor X9b 5G for less than its retail price of RM1,499 from various telcos, with some even offering it for free.

Specifically, you can now get the Honor X9b 5G from CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile and Yes. Starting with CelcomDigi, you can get the Honor X9b 5G when you sign up for the CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 80 plan, which actually costs RM70/month after taking into account their limited time RM10 monthly rebate. If you sign up for it on a 24-month contract, the Honor X9b 5G can be yours for just RM299, while if you prefer a shorter 12-month contract, the device will go for RM599.

Moving onto the green telco, Maxis is offering the Honor X9b 5G as a device bundle option for the Maxis Postpaid 79, Maxis Postpaid 109 and Maxis Postpaid 139 plans under 24-month contracts. The first option will see the Honor X9b 5G priced down to RM249, while if you get the Postpaid 109 plan you’ll only fork out RM99 instead for it. The most expensive Maxis Postpaid 139 plan though will let you have the Honor X9b 5G for free.

As for U Mobile, the Honor X9b 5G will be offered along for free if you sign up for the U Postpaid 98 plan on a 36-month contract, with a 24-month contract option instead raising the device fee to RM399 and a 12-month contract to RM699. Similarly, you can also get it with the U Postpaid 68 plan on a 24-month contract for RM599, and a 12-month contract for RM799.

Lastly, we have Yes 5G, who are offering the Honor X9b 5G for free if you sign up for their Infinite+ Standard postpaid plan for RM88/month on a 36-month contract.

Honor X9b 5G specs

As a quick recap, the Honor X9b 5G comes with a recommended retail price of RM1,499. That gets you a device with a 6.78-inch, ‘ultra bounce, anti-drop’ curved AMOLED display with a 1.5m drop resistance, pushing a 2652 x 1200p resolution capable of a peak brightness of 1,200nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering it meanwhile is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

You’ll also find a triple rear camera setup on the back, with a main 108MP camera flanked by a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro shooter, while in front is a 16MP selfie shooter. There’s also a 5,800mAh battery with 35W fast charging keeping the lights on, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IP53 dust and water resistance rating.
