Asus has today announced two new all-in-one PCs for Malaysia, the Asus A5 and the Asus M3. Both are fairly identical machines, sporting decently-sized 23.8-inch displays, making them a good fit for any household looking for an easy-to-use Windows PC with a minimalist and sleek look.
Asus A5 All-in-One
Starting with the more powerful PC between the two, the Asus A5 features a 23.8-inch IPS display pushing a 1080p resolution, with a peak brightness of 250nits and capable of full coverage of the sRGB colour gamut. There’s a layer of anti-glare coating over the display too, with an overall screen-to-body ratio of 89%. Behind the display meanwhile you’ll find a VESA mount for if you want to wall mount the Asus A5.
Under the hood, the Asus A5 comes with a 13th Generation Intel Core i5-1340P processor, mated to a single stick of 8GB DDR4 SODIMM memory clocked at 3200MHz, with an additional SODIMM slot present in case you’d like to upgrade it down the line. Similarly, the Asus A5 all-in-one comes with a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD pre-installed already, but there’s another M.2 NVMe slot as well as a space for an additional 2.5-inch SATA drive if you need more storage in the future. Graphics meanwhile are taken care of by integrated Intel UHD graphics. You’ll also find Windows 11 Home out of the box, with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021 included as well.
Other features of note include a bundled wireless keyboard and mouse combo, a built-in 2.1 speaker setup, a 1080p webcam with privacy shield and support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity. As for I/O, you’ll find a 3.5mm combo audio jack, an SD card reader, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a Thunderbolt 4 port, a HDMI 2.1b output, a HDMI 1.4 input and an RJ45 gigabit ethernet port.
The Asus A5 is priced at RM3,699, and you can find it on sale at selected Asus retailers nationwide.
Asus M3 All-in-One
Aside from the Asus A5, the Taiwanese giant is also launching the Asus M3 all-in-one PC. You’ll find a very similar 23.8-inch IPS display here, with a 1080p resolution, 250nits of brightness and full coverage of the sRGB colour gamut. However, it does have one advantage over the A5, with the display on the Asus M3 capable of a slightly higher 75Hz refresh rate.
Powering the Asus M3 is an AMD Ryzen 3 7320U processor, mated to 8GB of LPDDR5 5500Mhz memory; this is on-board memory so you unfortunately won’t be able to upgrade it. You can however upgrade the storage on the Asus M3—it comes with a 512GB PCIe 3.0 SSD out of the box and has an additional 2.5-inch SATA drive bay. It comes with Windows 11 Home and Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021 pre-installed too.
As for I/O, you’ll find an SD card reader, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, a HDMI 1.4 output, a HDMI 1.4 input and an RJ45 gigabit ethernet port. There’s also built-in stereo speakers, a 720p webcam with privacy shield, bundled wireless keyboard and mouse as well as support for WiFI 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity.
The Asus M3 all-in-one PC is available now for RM2,599 and can be found from selected Asus retailers nationwide.
