During the unveiling of CelcomDigi’s new Postpaid 5G plans, they have also shown off its highest Postpaid 5G 260 plan. This is their convergence offering which provides users with unlimited high-speed internet for the home as well as on the go. The postpaid’s subscription fee is RM260/month and they are offering extra rebates if you’re an existing Celcom or Digi customer.
CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 260: Unlimited 5G postpaid with 300Mbps fibre plan bundle
As a high-tier plan, the CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 260 plan comes with unlimited calls as well as unlimited 4G and 5G data. Unlike its cheaper Postpaid 5G 160 plan, the 260 option offers unlimited hotspot quota and the 5G speed cap is doubled from 500Mbps to 1Gbps. In addition, the plan also comes with 300Mbps fibre broadband included.
So essentially, you’re paying RM100/month extra to get 300Mbps fibre broadband for your home while getting unlimited hotspot quota and double the speed for your mobile. Customers of the plan also enjoy 50% off for supplementary plans as well as 50% off on unlimited 5G roaming plans. Customers who port-in from other telcos will also get to enjoy a RM30 rebate for 24 months.
Like any “unlimited” postpaid plan, there’s a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) and we are told that it will be more than 1TB per month. Once the FUP quota is reached, the internet speed will be throttled to 10Mbps which is still more than fast enough to provide decent HD video streaming. CelcomDigi says they will be transparent with the FUP details and it will be listed in the FAQ once the plan is published on their website.
[ UPDATE 14:00 3/12/2023 ] CelcomDigi reveals that the CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 260 plan has uncapped speeds for download and upload. The speed will be throttled to 10Mbps once you hit the monthly 2TB FUP limit.
CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 260 will be available starting January 2024
The CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 260 plan will only be available from January 2024 and customers can soon be able to register their interest on celcomdigi.com. As part of their introductory offer, the plan will be offered to new customers for RM250/month, while existing postpaid customers can subscribe to it for RM200/month.
