One year after its merger, CelcomDigi introduced its all-new CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G plans which will replace its old legacy high-tier postpaid plan options. These are one of the company’s new “unified” offerings after introducing CelcomDigi Fibre and CelcomDigi Business. The new postpaid plans offer 5G without any booster required and are offered in both fixed quota and unlimited data plan options.
CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G Plans
The new CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G plans start from RM80/month for 90GB of data and RM100/month for 150GB of data. The base plan has a 5G speed cap of 100Mbps while the Postpaid 5G 100 has a higher speed cap of 300Mbps.
If you want unlimited 4G/5G data, there’s Postpaid 5G 120, Postpaid 5G 140 and Postpaid 5G 160. These plans offer different hotspot quotas as well as 5G speed cap depending on tier.
The cheapest unlimited option is Postpaid 5G 120 at RM120/month which comes with 20GB of hotspot and a speed cap of 300Mbps. If you want higher speed (500Mbps) and more hotspot quota, there’s Postpaid 5G 140 offers 100GB of hotspot quota and Postpaid 5G 160 with 300GB of hotspot quota.
The unlimited data plans come with their own respective Fair Usage Policy (FUP) which ranges between 300GB to 1TB per month. Once you’ve hit your FUP limit, your mobile download speeds will be throttled to 10Mbps, which is higher than the typical industry standard of 64kbps to 512kbps. CelcomDigi will share more details about the FUP tomorrow when the product pages are up.
As usual, these plans come with unlimited calls to all networks in Malaysia. If you also need fast and unlimited internet for your home, CelcomDigi is also free 300Mbps fibre for 6 months if you add on a fibre broadband bundle. For extra savings, you can enjoy RM10/month rebate when you sign up with a contract and an additional RM10/month rebate (for 6 months) if you port in from other telcos.
The highest postpaid offering is CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 260 which comes with 300Mbps fibre broadband included. However, this option will only be available in January 2024.
New CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G Roaming options
CelcomDigi has also revamped its 5G roaming passes for its new Postpaid 5G customers which starts from RM25 for 3 days. For casual travellers, they offer 2GB of 4G/5G data for 3 days valid for 23 countries for RM25. If you need more data, there’s an unlimited 7 day option for 20 countries for RM58 or an unlimited 30 days option for 57 countries for RM98. Customers on the higher Postpaid 5G 120 and above, can enjoy these passes for 50% off until 31st March 2024.
CelcomDigi offers additional lines from RM30/month
These new CelcomDigi plans can be bundled with additional lines for your devices or family members. Unlike other telcos which restricts the number of supplementary lines you can have, users on these postpaid 5G plans can add up to 6 lines. For family members, the cheapest option is the Family plan at RM40/month per line which provides you with unlimited calls, 90GB of 4G/5G data (capped at 100Mbps) with a shared hotspot from your main account. If you need more speed and more data, the Family Plus option provides unlimited 4G/5G data and a higher speed cap of 300Mbps. In addition, the Family Plus plan comes with 20GB of hotspot data.
If you need connectivity for your device, it costs RM30/month for a GadgetSIM which comes with 30GB of data that has a speed cap of 100Mbps. Meanwhile, the GadgetSIM Plus at RM50/month comes with 300GB of data with a higher 300Mbps speed cap. Take note that the Family Plus plans are available only for CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 120 and above.
These new CelcomDigi plans will be available starting tomorrow and more details will be published on their website. For consumers seeking cheaper and affordable plans, CelcomDigi says its Xpax postpaid and lower-tier Digi postpaid plans are still available in the market.
