If you’re an existing Astro pay TV customer, Astro has a new WiFi Kencang offer where you can enjoy 500Mbps fibre broadband for less than RM100/month. This is a bundle fibre deal for existing Astro customers which is made possible with its current rebates and speed upgrade promo.
Astro Fibre plans now get free speed upgrade up to 5x
Following the implementation of the Mandatory Standard on Access Pricing (MSAP), providers such as Unifi and Maxis have slashed their 100Mbps plan from RM129/month to RM99/month. However, Astro has yet to revise its fibre broadband pricing.
According to their website, Astro is still offering 100Mbps for RM129/month, 500Mbps at RM189/month and 800Mbps at RM249/month. However, the 100Mbps fibre plan now gets a 5x speed upgrade to 500Mbps while the 500Mbps plan is getting a speed bump to 800Mbps. These speed upgrades are offered for 24 months and Astro is also offering a free 1 month offer if you sign up online.
500Mbps for RM90/month, 50Mbps for RM60/month
As part of its limited-time promo, Astro is offering its existing Astro pay-TV customers a flat rebate of RM39 across all of their non-primary TV packs. This means Astro customers can sign up for 100Mbps fibre plan for only RM90/month (save RM39/month) and on top of that, they will get a free speed upgrade to 500Mbps for 24 months.
While the 50Mbps plan is no longer listed, Astro customers are able to add on a 50Mbps fibre plan for RM60/month. Of course, it is more worthwhile for larger households to pay the extra RM30/month to enjoy 10x the speed with the current 500Mbps for RM90/month promo.
