TNG Digital has officially launched its new loyalty programme for Touch ‘n Go eWallet called GoRewards. Among the eWallet players, Touch ‘n Go eWallet claims to offer the widest merchant coverage and you can even earn points for overseas spending via the physical TNG eWallet Visa prepaid card.
GoRewards offers the widest merchant coverage to collect points
TNG eWallet GoRewards lets you collect points at over 1 million offline and online Touch ‘n Go eWallet merchants nationwide. As a comparison, other eWallets only allow you to earn points within their own ecosystem or at selected merchant partners.
For a wider reach, you can also earn GoRewards points when you pay using your TNG Visa card. This is applicable not just for domestic transactions within Malaysia but also with international merchants where Visa card is accepted.
TNG eWallet GoRewards lets you earn 1 point for every RM1 spent. In terms of value, 100 points is equivalent to RM1 which is essentially a 1% rebate on your spending.
To start earning points, you’ll have to opt-in to join GoRewards. Just launch the Touch ‘n Go eWallet app and then tap on GoRewards to join the programme.
Points can’t be used for spending or as credit
Unlike other loyalty programs such as GrabRewards, Setel’s Mesra Point or Shopee coins, the points collected via GoRewards can’t be used for direct spending or converted into credit. You’ll have to use the points to redeem vouchers from the GoRewards catalogue.
TNG Digital assured that the vouchers will not be as limited as the current Goal Hunter. They will be introducing more vouchers and surprises such as TNG eWallet reload PINs, so that consumers will have a wider variety of options to utilise the accumulated points.
Not all DuitNow QR codes are supported for TNG eWallet GoRewards for now
You can earn GoReward points via eWallet for the following transactions:
- Show QR code to pay
- Scan TNGD QR code
- Scan DuitNow QR code issued by Touch ‘n Go eWallet
- Online payment
- Payment through Touch ‘n Go eWallet Visa card
- Bills payment
- Telco: Postpaid, Prepaid
- App Store: Apple App Store, Google Play App
- In-app insurance
- Outbound international remittance through GOremit
For now, you won’t be issued points if you scan DuitNow QR codes issued by other providers (e.g. Grab, Boost, Mae, Public Bank, etc). We’ve been told that TNG Digital is working on expanding this feature to other QR codes and they will provide more updates at a later time.
Toll and parking payments made via RFID or TNG PayDirect are not eligible for GoReward points. However, you can earn points if you pay via the TNG eWallet Visa card.
The points earned will be displayed on the final transaction page. You can also view your transaction history via the GoRewards points section.
Redeem rewards from as little as 100 points
According to TNG Digital, they want their eWallet users to earn and redeem their points quickly. Touch ‘n Go eWallet users can redeem rewards from as little as 100 points. Take note that most of these vouchers require a minimum spend. Besides cashback vouchers under GoRewards, you can also use the points to redeem rewards from Alipay+ and Presto as shown below.
