Touch ‘n Go eWallet has revamped its rewards offering with its all-new GoRewards. The new rewards feature offers a higher rebate rate and you can earn points from most transactions for both local and international merchants.
According to TNG Digital, GoRewards lets you collect points for every transaction performed at over 1 million offline and online touchpoints throughout Malaysia. This marks a massive improvement over what most eWallet platforms are currently offering where the rewards are typically limited to spending with certain participating merchants.
How to collect and redeem GoRewards points?
GoRewards lets you earn 1 point for every RM1 spent. If you spend RM100, you’ll get 100 points and if you spend RM5.90, you’ll get 5 points.
The points system is similar to Mesra Rewards on Setel as 100 points are equivalent to RM1, which is essentially a 1% rebate. GoRewards’ 1% is just the base rebate rate for most payments and TNG eWallet may offer up to 10% for selected strategic partners.
However, do note that the earned points will expire in 6 months. For example, if you collected points from the 1st or 31st of January, these points will expire on 30th June.
However, unlike Mesra points on Setel, you can’t convert points into credit. You can redeem your points into vouchers for as little as 100 points before the expiry.
Some of the notable point redemption options include RM1 Zus Coffee cashback voucher (100 points), RM2 Celcom cashback (200 points), RM2 7-Eleven cashback (200 points), RM2 Taco Bell cashback (200 points), RM3 BHPetrol voucher (300 points), RM10 Digi Cashback (1,000 points), 2% off Infinix code (500 points), RM40 Celcom/Digi Cashback (4,000 points). You can also redeem points for various discounts and a chance to participate in a luckydraw giveaway.
What transaction qualifies for GoRewards?
GoRewards users can earn points at TNG eWallet merchants as well as merchants that accept your TNG eWallet Visa Card. For DuitNow QR, it is currently limited to DuitNow QR codes from TNG eWallet. Hopefully, TNG Digital will expand the GoRewards feature to other DuitNow QR codes from other platforms soon.
So far we’ve used our TNG eWallet at two merchants that scan our QR code. We managed to earn points for both transactions.
Other in-app payments are also eligible for TNG eWallet such as bill payments (including postpaid, and prepaid), app store (Apple App Store, Google Play Store), insurance and online payment.
If you’re travelling overseas, you can also earn points when you pay using your TNG eWallet and the TNG eWallet Visa card.
Take note that GoRewards is not applicable for tolls and transfers. In case you’re wondering, no points will be given if you use your TNG Visa card to reload other eWallets. However, you do earn points if you send money overseas with GoRemit.
How to activate GoRewards?
TNG eWallet users need to opt-in to start earning points. To enable GoRewards in your TNG eWallet account, just make sure you’re on the latest version of the eWallet app and then tap on GoRewards on the home screen. Then select “Join Now” and you’ll be directed to the new GoRewards section with a simple walkthrough of the new interface.
The GoRewards page lets you view your current points, vouchers and Point History. The monthly Goal Hunter programme is still available and you can view it at the bottom of the page.
