[ UPDATE 5/3/2024 12:00 ] EV Chargers at Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall are now available.

With more electric vehicles (EV) hitting Malaysian roads, there’s definitely a need to deploy more EV chargers not just at interstate highway stops but also at destinations such as shopping malls. It appears that Mid Valley City is embracing the current transition to EVs as there are AC and DC chargers being deployed at Mid Valley Megamall’s basement carpark.
The new EV charging station by Gentari and JomCharge is located near the Southcourt travelator at (around Pillar A43) Level P2, Mid Valley Megamall carpark. For fast charging, there’s an ABB Terra 54 DC charger which can push up to 50kW. This unit has a total of three nozzles which include Type-2 AC as well as CCS2 and CHAdeMO DC connectors. This station also has two AC charge points which is great if you plan to leave your EV for a couple of hours.
This single DC and two AC charging bay setup is similar to its other EV Charging station location located at P2, The Gardens Mall. It also gets one ABB DC Charger and two AC charge points. Take note that these Gentari and JomCharge chargers are still not available at the time of writing.
If you need to charge your EV at around Mid Valley, there are currently three 11kW AC chargers at Menara Southpoint. Located near pillar S2 13 at Level P1, these chargers are managed by ChargEV and they cost RM0.80 per kWh. If your EV can accept 11kW, you can get 22kWh of charge in about two hours for RM17.60.
Once all sites are operational, there will be a total of 9 charging points at Mid Valley City which includes 2 DC and 7 AC charge points. The next nearest charger is located at (Pillar C26) Level B1, KL Eco City which has two 22kW AC chargers deployed by ChargEV.
As always, these charging bays are for EV charging only. If your vehicle has completed its charging, you should move it so that others can top up their batteries.
In case you missed it, ChargeSini recently deployed four DC chargers at The Curve while IPC Shopping Centre has deployed four AC chargers. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is currently the home to Malaysia’s first Tesla Supercharger location with a total of 8 DC fast charging stalls. Soon, it will be joined by more EV chargers deployed by Shell Recharge just next door.
Thanks Joshua for the tip!
