It seems that we might be seeing a brand new pair of earbuds from Samsung soon. According to reports, the Korean giant is gearing up to launch what appears to be the Galaxy Buds FE. They will be part of their ‘Fan Edition’ lineup of more budget friendly products, aimed at their ‘fans’ who want top tier Samsung products at cheaper price tags.
In fact, we’re so close to seeing the Galaxy Buds FE that a leaked user manual for the earbuds has already surfaced online. It seems that Samsung has accidentally published this along with some images of the Galaxy Buds FE before its intended launch date. Based on this, it seems that the Galaxy Buds FE will be quite different from previous generation Galaxy Buds earbuds as rather than a single housing with touch sensors, the Galaxy Buds FE appears to have a raised and flat central area that will be the touchpad. The user can then tap on these touch areas to play and pause music, answer or decline calls or any other customisable action. You’ll also be able to attach wing tips to the earbuds as a way to aid the fit of the earbuds in your ear.
Despite likely being positioned below their Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in the product stack, the Galaxy Buds FE will still have active noise cancellation (ANC) and the Samsung Find My Earbuds feature. The charging case meanwhile retains the same form factor as the previous few Galaxy Buds devices, and will come with a USB-C port for charging, though it doesn’t seem to have wireless charging. There was also no mention of any water resistance ratings in the user manual.
That being said, there’s still no word yet on when exactly Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Buds FE. They could do it alongside the still rumoured Galaxy S23 FE which is said to debut some time near the end of the year, but we’ll have to wait till Samsung confirms it to know for sure.
