The Xiaomi 13T series is launching at the end of this month and this is essentially the second Xiaomi flagship series for the year after the Xiaomi 13 lineup was introduced during MWC 2023. Unlike last year’s Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro, the new Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro will get Leica co-engineered cameras.
The Xiaomi 13T series launch is happening in Berlin on 26th September 2023 at 2pm local time (8pm Malaysian time). The launch event will be streamed live on Xiaomi’s official channels including their website.
Ahead of the launch, we’ve seen a couple of renders and leaked specs of the upcoming flagship smartphones. Instead of a high-resolution 200MP main camera, the new Xiaomi 13T Pro is said to get a triple-camera setup that consists of a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX707 sensor, 50MP telephoto camera and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. As shown above, the triple camera sits in a rather large square camera bump with LEICA branding on it.
Xiaomi 13T series is a rebadge of the Redmi K60 Ultra
If you’ve been following Xiaomi’s Chinese smartphone lineup, the Xiaomi 13T Pro is essentially a rebadge of the Redmi K60 Ultra. The device is expected to come with a 6.67″ OLED (2712×1220 pixels) display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 2600 nits of brightness. Instead of a Snapdragon processor, the K60 Ultra runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chip that’s paired with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The device also gets a large 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging via USB-C. Interestingly, it also gets IP68-rated dust and water resistance as well. In China, the Redmi K60 Ultra 12GB RAM + 256GB storage costs CNY2,599 (about RM1,659) while the 24GB RAM + 1TB storage version is priced at CNY3,599 (about RM2,297).
As a comparison, last year’s Xiaomi 12T with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage in Malaysia was priced at RM1,999 while the Xiaomi 12T Pro with 12GB RAM and 256GB was priced at RM2,999. Both Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro have been certified by Sirim since July and that means both devices should go on sale in Malaysia very soon after the global announcement.
