EV Charge Point Operator ChargeSini has just switched on its largest EV Charging hub located at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara. The location has a total of 4 DC fast chargers with two nozzles each, allowing up to 8 EVs to be charged at the same time.
The ChargeSini chargers at The Curve are located at B1 Car Park near Pillar N6. You can activate the charger via the ChargeSini app which is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app accepts credit or debit cards for payment
For this location, ChargeSini and Sangitech have deployed four units of Autel 47kW DC chargers which come with two CCS2 connectors each. Similar to other ChargeSini sites, the EV charging session is priced per minute depending on the charging rate you’re getting. If you’re getting 23kW and below, the chargers are priced at RM0.40 per minute and if you can get the maximum 47kW, it will cost you RM0.80/minute. This means a 30-minute charge at 47kW will cost you RM24 for approximately 23kWh worth of charge.
Unlike most other public EV chargers, ChargeSini has a reservation system where you can book a charging spot in advance as each charging bay is secured by an automated parking barrier. To mitigate hoggers, ChargeSini also imposes an idle fee of RM1.00 for every 5 minutes if your vehicle has completed charging and is not moved within 15 minutes.
From our charging experience at The Curve, we charged the Kia EV6 from 31% to 80% in 1 hour and 40 minutes (100 minutes). Since the DC charger has two EVs plugged in, we got a charging rate of 23kW (RM0.40/minute rate) and the charging session cost RM40 for 38.8kWh consumed. That calculates to RM1.03/kWh which is quite affordable for DC charging.
