It can’t be denied that Valve Steamdeck has changed how we look at portable PC gaming. The ASUS ROG Ally meanwhile proves that you can play AAA games anywhere and anytime. However, what if you need a docking solution at home? The new Gullikit dock may just be the one for you, and it has a cool retro look to boot.
The dock comes in a design that is inspired by the Nintendo Super NES home console (also known as the Super Famicom in Japan). The grey shell and purple buttons are reminiscent of the old console, and they invoke nostalgia right out of the gate. The buttons don’t do anything, but they do look cool.
Underneath the top plastic that can slide is the cradle that the Steamdeck, ROG Ally, or even the Nintendo Switch can sit in, although you need to put it upside down for the last one. This is because the dock USB connector is designed for top USB ports. With the Switch’s USB port on the bottom, safe to say that you need to flip it over to use it with the dock.
On the back, you will see USB-C charging, AC adapter ports, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and three USB 3.0 ports. You get 100W PD charging support, and the HDMI port can output up to 4K 60Hz video. You even get four hidden micro-SD card storage on board. No price has been announced, but Gullikit said that it will be available starting from September.
