Google Play Pass is finally rolling out in Malaysia and this is a monthly subscription service which provides access to a library of apps that are ad-free and has no in-app payments. Essentially, this is basically Google’s answer to Apple Arcade and it is offered to Android smartphone and tablet users.

As reported recently, several users have spotted the Google Play Pass option in their Play Store. Now it seems that Google is finally making the pass available to all users in Malaysia.

How much is Google Play Pass in Malaysia? and How to sign up?

The Google Play Pass costs RM10.99 per month or RM99.00 per year. That’s cheaper than the Google Play Pass in the US which costs USD 4.99 per month (about RM23.22) as well as Apple Arcade which is currently offered for RM19.90 per month in Malaysia.

If this is your first time, Google is offering the first month for free and you can cancel at any time. The subscription is charged to your saved payment method in the Google Play Store.

To activate the pass, just launch your Google Play Store on your Android smartphone, tap on your profile picture in the top right corner, and then tap on “Play Pass” which is listed between Library and Settings.

What does Google Play Pass offer?

As mentioned earlier, Google Play Pass provides you with access to a huge library of premium games and applications for one fixed subscription fee. On top of that, you can also share the Play Pass subscription with up to five family members via the family-sharing feature.

For example, Terraria which costs RM20.99 is free for you to download with your Play Pass subscription. There are no ads and no in-app purchases for apps listed under the Play Pass. Apps under the Play Pass are indicated by the colourful Play Pass icon in the Play Store listing. Besides Games, the Play Pass also covers other app categories including tools & utilities, photo editing tools, music and audio editing tools and more.

To discover more apps under your Play Pass, you can check out the Play Pass tab in your Play Store. The section allows you to discover new additions to the Play Pass, Children’s content as well as Top Charts.

For more info, you can check out the Google Play Pass page.
