Music streaming service Spotify announced last week that it was adjusting its prices for its ad-free Premium plans in various countries. While Malaysia was spared from the initial price hike which saw US subscribers having to pay at least USD 1 (RM4.53) more, turns out that Spotify is also increasing its price in Malaysia too alongside more countries including UAE, Switzerland, Czechia, Hungary, Romania and Saudi Arabia.
From the looks of it, monthly Spotify Premium users in Malaysia will have to pay between RM1-RM1.70 extra per month starting in the next billing cycle in September. Here’s the pricing for all Spotify premium plans after the price hike:
- Spotify Premium Mini – RM0.75/day
- Spotify Premium Individual –
RM14.90RM15.90/month (+RM1.00) - Spotify Premium Duo –
RM19.80RM21.50/month (+RM1.70) - Spotify Premium Family –
RM23.80RM24.90/month (+RM1.10) - Spotify Premium Student –
RM7.50RM8.50/month (+RM1.00)
Despite recent rumours of a higher-quality HiFi Audio streaming option, there’s still no sign of a higher Spotify Supremium tier that offers higher lossless audio streaming quality.
