Hotlink has revamped its unlimited prepaid offering which now offers double the speed and double the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) quota. The new Hotlink Unlimited Plus pass now offers a whopping 100GB FUP and Maxis has also made the FUP details more prominent on the Hotlink product page.
The new Unlimited Internet Plus priced at RM50/month now offers unlimited internet at 12Mbps with 100GB FUP. It also comes with unlimited calls and unlimited hotspot. If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, there’s also a RM40/month unlimited plan which offers unlimited internet at 6Mbps with 80GB FUP and it also comes bundled with unlimited calls and hotspot. Once you’ve hit your monthly FUP limit, the speed will be throttled to 512kbps which is the same as before.
For those who prefer a high-speed data plan on prepaid, Hotlink has also increased the data quota as well. The RM35/month high-speed data plan gets upgraded from 30GB to 40GB, while the cheaper RM25/month option has been bumped from 15GB to 20GB. Both also get unlimited calls to all networks in Malaysia.
20% Cashback for users below 24 years old
If you are Malaysian aged below 24 years old, Hotlink is offering a 20% Cashback voucher which you can use for your next monthly pass renewal. The voucher can be redeemed from the Hotlink app’s My Rewards tab and it is valid for 33 days. This means eligible Hotlink users can subscribe to the RM50/month Unlimited Internet Plus plan for RM40/month while the RM40 option costs RM32/month.
According to the FAQ, the new Hotlink 20% Cashback is for Malaysian citizens aged below 24 years old, or if the registration was done by a Hotlink or Maxis dealer in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan.
New Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid vs old Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid
Overall, the new Hotlink Unlimited plans offer double the speed and at least double the FUP quota which is more than the previous FUP of just 50GB which is little compared to the competition. However, the new unlimited plans lose out on the uncapped high-speed internet from 2am to 2pm which allows users to enjoy full speeds for 12 hours a day. But overall, this is a good move as users now get more value with higher FUP and double the speed.
