Ever wonder what it feels like to be in the inner circle of the MotoGP universe during a race weekend? Well, Airbnb is opening up the opportunity for you to experience that with a little bit of help from the eight-time world champion, Marc Márquez.
At the Catalan Grand Prix in Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this September, the Repsol Honda MotoGP rider will be opening the door to one of his team’s motorhomes for up to two people to spend a night there. Not only that the 50 square meter motorhome is located right next to Marc’s own private trailer but it is also within a special area that can only be accessed by the Grand Prix riders.
The promise from Airbnb and Marc
You can spot the motorhome from miles away thanks to the gigantic number 93 (Marc’s famed racing number) painted on it. It is fully decked with Marc’s memorabilia from helmets to race suits and even some of his championship trophies.
In addition to the motorhome stay and entry pass to the circuit, guests will also receive numerous VIP benefits during their stay such as access to the MotoGP simulator and a guided tour of the paddock area including pit boxes. Furthermore, they will also be provided with MotoGP VIP Village passes that will not only allow them to watch the race in comfortable settings but also access to food and beverages all day long.
You don’t get to meet the champ though
Priced at only EUR93 (~RM477) which is another nod to Marc’s racing number, this Airbnb stay is going to be a huge treat for you if you are a big fan of the motorsport legend and MotoGP. There is a catch though: you are not going to meet the multiple World Champion himself…at least, officially.
According to the listing, the racer will “virtually” greet you when you checked in at the motorhome. That’s understandable though since Marc would most probably be busy going through all the things that a MotoGP racer has to do during a race weekend.
Still, who knows, maybe there is still a tiny chance of a random encounter with Marc since you going to be his neighbour after all. Before we forgot, we also want to point out that you have to make your own travel arrangement to the Catalan GP as the Airbnb stay does not include things such as flight tickets and transportation to the circuit.
Airbnb’s other unique experiences for 2023
The upcoming MotoGP experience with Marc Márquez is yet another interesting experience that Airbnb has come out for this year. Back in February, one can actually spend a night at Seth Rogen’s creative space in Los Angeles and even get to spend some time doing pottery with Seth himself.
Just a month later, the home of Phantom of the Opera, Palais Garnier Opera in Paris has also announced a special one-off overnight stay at its Box of Honour which was majestically transformed into a bedroom for the Airbnb collaboration. Later this month, you can even book an overnight stay at Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse with Ken as your “host”, just in time for the release of the Barbie live-action movie.
