To recap, the 10.9″ iPad is Apple’s new entry-level tablet. It is sold alongside the previous 9th generation iPad that’s currently priced from RM1,599 for 64GB WiFi. Similar to the newer generations of iPad Air and iPad Pro, the 10th gen iPad features slimmer bezels and there’s no longer a physical home button but it still gets Touch ID on the power button. The Liquid Retina screen is slightly larger at 10.9″ pushing 2360×1640 pixels. It also runs on a new Apple A14 Bionic chip, which is the same chip that’s powering the iPhone 12 series.
The new iPad also adopts USB-C which allows you to connect it to external drives, docks and displays. Despite using USB-C, the new iPad still supports the 1st gen Apple Pencil and this means you’ll need an extra USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter to charge the Apple pencil stylus.
Other major improvements for the new iPad are a landscape ultra-wide front camera and proper stereo speakers for landscape usage. If you need an Apple Pencil, Machines is currently selling it for RM389. Need a keyboard? The new Magic Keyboard Folio for the iPad 10th gen costs RM1,249.
