If you’re in the market for an action camera and your main priority is that it needs to be as small as possible, then Insta360 might have the answer for you. Introducing the new Insta360 GO 3, the successor to the GO 2 that it had launched back in 2021.
Insta360 GO 3 Malaysia pricing and availability
The Insta360 GO 3 is already available for purchase in Malaysia from their official store on Shopee, coming in three storage options:
- Insta360 GO 3, 32GB storage – RM1,779
- Insta360 GO 3, 64GB storage – RM1,869
- Insta360 GO 3, 128GB storage – RM1,999
Do note though that these are only for the standalone options. You can also get the Insta360 GO 3 in a Get Set Kit, a Bike Kit or a Motorcycle Kit too. It should be pointed out though that the 32GB and 128GB will require you to wait a bit, with another two weeks before they ship though you can still pre-order them from its Shopee listing nonetheless.
Insta360 GO 3 specs and features
The Insta360 GO 3 might look pretty familiar to you if you’re already a user of the GO 2, keeping the pill shaped form factor from before. Measuring just 25.6 x 54.4 x 23.2mm in size and weighing just 35.5g, the GO 3 is billed as the world’s smallest action camera and it’s hard to not see why when it’s only as big as most thumbs.
As for the actual camera itself, it’s a 35m equivalent ultrawide lens sitting over a sensor that shoots at up to 2.7K resolution at 24/25/30fps, though if you’re willing to drop the resolution to either 1440p or 1080p, you also get to shoot at up to 50fps with the latter also offering slo-mo 120fps video. If you’re using it to take photos meanwhile you can capture images up to 1440p in standard 16:9, 2560 x 2560p for a squared shot or up to a 2936 x 1088p image if you prefer ultrawide shots.
The Action Pod that you mount it into meanwhile is a bit larger, weighing in at 96.3g and measuring 63.5 x 47.6 x 29.5mm. It does offer better battery life though thanks to its 1,270mAh battery, providing up to 170minutes of video recording. Without it, the GO 3 module itself offers up to 45minutes of recording at 1080p 30fps via its 310mAh battery. You do need to charge the GO 3 with the Action Pod though, which in turn is charged with via USB-C, with just 35minutes needed to get the GO 3 to 100%.
Other features of note include Insta360’s FlowState Stabilisation, 360 Horizon Lock, Time Capture, TimeShift, Loop and Pre-Recording. Upgraded built-in microphones meanwhile should deliver better audio. The Insta360 GO 3 also now lets you record as long as you wish instead of being limited to 30minutes. However, that will depend on the free storage you have left; there’s no support for external storage here. There’s IPX8 water resistance on the GO 3 too, though the Action Pod is limited to just an IPX4 rating.
