Heads up iPhone users, Apple is raising the price of its 2TB iCloud+ monthly subscription. Previously priced at RM39.90 per month, if you need 2TB of cloud storage Cupertino will now charge you RM44.90 a month.
Luckily for most users, Apple has not raised the prices of the other two tiers on iCloud+. The lowest tier remains priced at 50GB for RM3.90 a month, while for RM11.90 a month you get 200GB of cloud storage. As spotted by Xavier Naxa on Twitter, he suspects it has to do with the continuing rise of the US Dollar and the weakening exchange rate between it and the Ringgit.
It’s also worth noting that Apple One, their all-in-one subscription bundle, has also not changed its prices. Apple One still starts at RM29.90/month for the Individual tier with 50GB iCloud+, RM39.90/month for the Family plan with 200GB of iCloud+ with Premier offering 2TB of iCloud+ for RM78.90/month. You also get access to Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade and for Premier subscribers, Apple Fitness+ too.
That being said, Apple had only just raised the prices of Apple One in Malaysia less than a year ago, raising the starting price from RM19.90/month to RM29.90/month back in October 2022. That same month also saw Cupertino increase the price of Apple Music and Apple TV+ in Malaysia, with iCloud+ maintaining its pricing—till now that is.
