OnePlus Fold leaks, won’t just be a rebadged Oppo foldable

Rumours of a OnePlus foldable have been swirling around for months now, ever since their parent company Oppo had launched the Oppo Find N2 in China in fact. Many expected the OnePlus Fold (or whatever it ends up being called) to just be the Find N2 but rebadged as a OnePlus device for the global stage. However, if recent leaked renders are to be believed, OnePlus has designed their own foldable smartphone.

According to serial leakster OnLeaks, these are renders depicting the upcoming OnePlus Fold. It very much is not the Oppo Find N2, and instead shows a foldable with what appears to be a large circular rear camera module on the back. This camera island seems to house a triple rear camera setup and the Hasselblad branding returns here too, and of note is a periscope lens which may allow for zoom features similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Curiously though the flash module sits outside the camera island, and is housed on the top left of the back instead.

Speaking of the back of the OnePlus Fold, it looks to be covered in a leather or leather-like finish. There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which should double as a power button. OnePlus fans who love the alert slider meanwhile should be pleased to know that it returns here on the OnePlus Fold.

Unfortunately we don’t know any concrete details about the OnePlus Fold’s primary and secondary displays just yet, but we can expect to see it be at least an AMOLED panel pushing a 120Hz refresh rate, with the main screen pushing a 2K resolution. Other rumoured specs include the main camera being a 50MP shooter using the Sony IMX 890 sensor while the front camera is said to be a 32MP camera. We also expect the battery to be 4800mAh in capacity with support for 100W SuperVOOC charging.
