After weeks of teasing up their upcoming smartphone, Nothing has finally confirmed a launch date for the Phone (2). On the Nothing website, you’ll now see a new teaser image of the Nothing Phone (2), along with the title ‘Phone (2) is coming’ and a launch date of 12 July, midnight local time.
Looking at their new teaser image, we do have some questions, namely what is going on with the tentacles? Nothing previously associated an animal with each of their product launches; the Nothing Ear (2) for instance had a rhino beetle in its marketing material, while the Phone (1) had a parrot linked to it. We’re guessing that with the Phone (2), Nothing has gone with an octopus then.
Come to the bright side.

Curiously, despite Nothing CEO Carl Pei hinting at them being fake, previously leaked renders of the Phone (2) appear to match up with the new teaser image from Nothing. While we can’t see the Phone (2) itself, you can see the newly redesigned Glyph Interface LED on the back, which looks exactly the same as the one leaked by Onleaks last week.
In any case, you won’t have to wait too long now to know more about the Nothing Phone (2) with its launch confirmed for next month. Set to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, it’s Nothing’s first foray into the flagship smartphone segment, and we know plenty will be awaiting how much more expensive it may turn out being compared to the upper midrange Nothing Phone (1).
