Electric Vehicle (EV) drivers heading from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur take note! The 50kW EV Charger at Petronas Gambang (Westbound) will be temporarily offline from tomorrow, 6th June until 23rd June 2023. As an interim solution, a portable charger will be deployed at the Petronas station.
The Petronas Gambang (Westbound) R&R on the East Coast Expressway (Lebuhraya Pantai Timur) currently has an EV Charger with AC Type-2, CHAdeMO and CCS2 nozzles. The EV charger delivers a maximum output of 50kW, priced at RM1.20/minute. Similar to the previous downtime at Petronas Gambang Eastbound R&R, a Kempower portable DC Charger will be deployed and it can charge EVs up to 22kW through a CCS2 nozzle.
The 22kW Portable Kempower charger is likely to be priced at RM0.50/minute similar to its previous deployments at Petronas Gambang (Eastbound) and Pedas Linggi Layby Northbound. If you need a quick top-up, you can activate the charger either on the Setel or JomCharge app.
