Acer’s Vero lineup of eco-friendly products have been around for a couple of years now, starting with just laptops and slowly but surely featuring more and more products with a green edge to them. The Acer Connect Vero W6m is just the latest from the Taiwanese manufacturer, with Acer claiming that it embodies their commitment to environmental responsibility and minimising our carbon footprint.
According to Acer, the Connect Vero W6m was designed with the environment in mind, resulting in a minimalistic and compact chassis made out of 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. You’ll also find the Acer Vero cobblestone gray finish on it. On top of using recycled material in its case, the Connect Vero W6m also comes packed in 100% recycled packaging to be more eco-friendly and green. Topping it off is an Eco mode feature that lets the router operate more efficiently.
As for its hardware under the hood, the Connect Vero W6m features a MediaTek quad-core 2GHz A53 processor with 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 4GB of eMMC storage. This lets it support WiFi 6E Triband (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz) AXE7800 throughput with speeds of up to 7.8Gbps, with 2x4x2 multi-user, multiple-input, multiple-output technology. There’s 6 performance tuned antennas on the router too, along with a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port and up to four 1Gbps Ethernet ports. If you’ve got multiple of these routers, you can set up a dual mesh system for up to 465m2 of network range, with it rising to 930m2 on a quad mesh system.
Acer also claims that the Connect Vero W6m is the first ever router to pass the European Union’s EN 303 645 (RED) Cyber Security Standards, acknowledging the importance of data protection and cybersecurity. Its Hybrid Quality of Service feature meanwhile detects and accelerates network traffic by prioritising key websites and apps for a better online experience. Of course, if you want a more performance-focused router from Acer there’s the Predator W6 but with the Connect Vero W6m Acer is perhaps trying to branch out to all types of users who are looking for a new router.
Unfortunately at time of writing, there’s no pricing or availability details of the Connect Vero W6m just yet. However, you can still check out its product page over on the Acer website here.
