Tune Talk upgrades FUP for “Unlimited” Pek Jimat Prepaid plans with up to 20GB extra

Tune Talk’s Pek Jimat “unlimited” prepaid plans have gotten an upgrade with a higher Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit of up to 20GB extra in conjunction with the Raya season. Pek Jimat is Tune Talk’s “unlimited” prepaid offering that comes with unlimited calls to all networks and unlimited “data” that comes with a speed cap.

The base Fokus 33 plan at RM38/month (or RM33/month on a 12-month commitment) which originally came with 50GB of FUP is now upgraded to 60GB. However, the hotspot quota remains the same at 4GB. In terms of speed, you’ll get 6Mbps between 9am to 5pm and 3Mbps from 5pm to 9am.

If you need more speed and data quota, the Fokus 40 plan at RM48/month (or RM40/month on a 12-month commitment) now gets 80GB FUP instead of 60GB. The hotspot quota remains unchanged at 6GB. Similar to Fokus 33, the plan has two different speed caps – 12Mbps between 9am to 5pm and 6Mbps between 5pm to 9am.

For more speed and more hotspot usage, the Bebas 55 plan at RM68/month (or RM55/month on 12-month commitment) now gets an upgraded FUP from 80GB to 100GB in a month. Hotspot remains “unlimited” like before subject to the applicable FUP and you also get up to 18Mbps throughout the day and night.

In case you didn’t know, the FUP is basically the hard ceiling limit for you to enjoy higher speeds on your unlimited plan. After you’ve exhausted your FUP limit, Tune Talk states in their FAQ that your internet speeds will be throttled down to 256kbps which is only good for basic internet use such as instant messaging and lite web browsing.
