Here’s the first picture of the Nothing Phone (2), coming in Q3 2023

It’s almost a year now since the Nothing Phone (1) debuted with its transparent back design and light up Glyph interface LEDs. Having released the Nothing Ear (2) just a couple months back, the London-based firm is now gearing up for the next big sequel in store: the Nothing Phone (2).

In a new tweet and page on their website, Nothing has finally revealed the first few images of the Phone (2), while simultaneously showing nothing much at all. All they have showed off is what appears to be a white back panel with a blinking red light, perhaps an evolution of the Glyph interface that was on the Nothing Phone (1), along with what could be a mute switch of sorts. The teaser also indicates that the Phone (2) will be arriving in the summer of 2023, likely in the Q3 window.

While the first image of the Nothing Phone (2) might not reveal much about the upcoming device, we do already know that Nothing founder Carl Pei intends this smartphone to be much more premium than their first one. This followed Pei and Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon confirming that they’ll be using a Snapdragon 8 series chipset under the hood of the Phone (2). It was later revealed by Alex Katouzian, Qualcomm Senior Vice President, that they would be using a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in a post on LinkedIn, though Katouzian would edit his post shortly after.

With the Nothing Phone (2) set to be positioned higher in the market, it might be a little more expensive too. The Nothing Phone (1) came out with a relatively high price tag for the Snapdragon 778G chip under the hood, but did make up for it with some nice-to-haves such as wireless charging and a unique design. We’ll have to wait till later this year though to see more of the Phone (2) and its price.
