Acer has announced the all new Predator Helios Neo 16, their latest gaming laptop, will be coming to our shores. They’re positioned as an affordable option for gamers on a budget while still featuring the Predator brand’s performance-focused DNA.
The Predator Helios Neo 16 is available now from the Acer eStore as well as the Acer official store on Shopee and Lazada. There will be two models available, which are:
The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 doesn’t shy away from being a gaming laptop, with the Predator logo and encrypted codes laser etched onto the anodised lid. The chassis houses a 16-inch, IPS display with a 165Hz refresh rate and full coverage of the sRGB colour space, with the base model coming with a WUXGA (1980 x 1200p) resolution while the more expensive option gets a higher resolution WQXGA (2560 x 1600p) display instead.
Under the hood, you’ll find 13th Gen Intel Core HX processors, with your choice between the Intel Core i5-13500HX or the Intel Core i7-13700HX. The former will come with 8GB of DDR5 4800MHz RAM and a 512GB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 SSD, while the latter is mated to 16GB of DDR5 4800MHz RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 SSD; both models can be upgraded to 32GB of RAM. The Core i5 model will also feature an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 while the Core i7 model gets the more powerful RTX 4060 graphics card instead.
Keeping the lights on is a 90Wh battery that Acer rates for up to three and a half hours away from a plug point—with such power hungry silicon this is probably to be expected. There’s also a 4-zone RGB keyboard, speakers with DTS X: Ultra audio, an FHD webcam with Temporal Noise Reduction along with Acer PredatorSense to handle performance tweaking.
As for I/O, the Predator Helios Neo 16 features a HDMI 2.1 port, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, a microSD card reader and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. You’ll also find support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless connectivity.
