The Final Fantasy series of video games has been around for over three decades now, and the much beloved franchise is set to get its next major instalment, Final Fantasy XVI, on 22 June 2023. Unfortunately for gamers it’s going to be a PlayStation 5 timed exclusive at launch, but Sony is giving fans of the game a new Final Fantasy XVI bundle. So if you don’t already have a PlayStation 5 at home and want to play the new game the moment it launches, here’s one way to get both the game and the console in one go.
There will be two PlayStation 5 Final Fantasy XVI bundles available, one for the PS5 Digital Edition and one for the PS5 Disc edition. Each bundle will come with the console itself, a DualSense Wireless controller and a Final Fantasy XVI voucher card which you can then use to download the game from the PlayStation store. The voucher will be valid till 2038 so no worries there, but you will need to create a PlayStation Network account.
Bonus items in the bundle include a free copy of Astro’s Playroom and some bonus items for Final Fantasy XVI, such as the Braveheart weapon and some currency and experience boost accessories.
The bundles will be available on 22 June onwards, the day the game launches, and you can get them from any PlayStation authorised dealer, Sony stores and other authorised retailers nationwide. The Final Fantasy XVI PS5 Digital bundle will come with a recommended price of RM2,339 while the Final Fantasy XVI PS5 Disc bundle will come with a RM2,769 price tag. If you already have a PlayStation 5 though, you can pre-order the game on the PlayStation store for RM299.
