The Huawei P60 Pro is coming to Malaysia very soon and the official local launch is taking place on Thursday, 11th May 2023 at 2.30pm. The P60 Pro is Huawei’s latest flagship smartphone and we reckon that the foldable Huawei Mate X3 could be making an appearance as well at the same event.

Being a photography-centric flagship smartphone, the Huawei P60 Pro boasts superior low-light camera performance with its XMAGE Technology. Instead of mounting large 1-inch or high 200MP image sensors, Huawei is taking a different approach by optimising its smartphone’s optical, mechanical, imaging and processing capabilities in a compact form factor.

The P60 Pro gets a triple-camera setup which consists of a 48MP main camera that with a variable aperture lens that offers 10 different steps between f/1.4 to f/4.0. There’s also a 48MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom that claims to be the brightest telephoto camera on a smartphone and also a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

The Huawei P60 Pro has a 6.67″ LTPO OLED display that supports 120Hz refresh rate and boasts a resolution of 2700×1220 pixels. Similar to the Mate 50 Pro, the device also gets Kunlun glass which is designed to be 10x more drop resistant than regular smartphone glass. In terms of design, the Huawei P60 Pro is offered in a Rococo Pearl finish which offers one of a kind pattern that’s unique to every unit. Alternatively, there’s also a matte black version that features an anti-fingerprint feather-sand glass finish for the rear.

Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G mobile platform that can be configured with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Powering the device is a 4,815mAh battery that supports up to 88W wired SuperCharged via USB-C as well as up to 50W wireless charging. Being a flagship device, it also supports IP68-rated dust and water resistance, as well as stereo speakers.

In China, the Huawei P60 Pro is priced from CNY 6,988 (about RM4,499) for the 256GB version and CNY 7,988 (about RM5,143) for the 512GB variant. As a comparison, last year’s Huawei P50 Pro was launched in Malaysia at RM4,199 for the 256GB model.
