Besides TNB Electron, Shell Recharge, JomCharge and Gentari, ChargEV is also offering free EV charging during the upcoming Raya festive season. If you’re heading down south, ChargEV has highlighted that its 50kW DC Charger at R&R Ayer Keroh (Southbound) is still available for free.
ChargEV’s 50kW DC Charger at R&R Ayer Keroh (Southband) has three nozzles – 11kW AC, 50kW DC CCS2 and 50kW DC CHAdeMO. You can activate the charger via the ChargEV app which is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
According to the charger’s listing on PlugShare, this charger has been free for quite some time now and it is located near Baskin Robbins at the Ayer Keroh overhead bridge R&R (Southbound). ChargEV also mentioned on its Facebook page that some of its chargers will be free of charge during the Raya season and they urge users to look out for them in the ChargEV app.
As always, do practice good EV charging etiquette such as removing your vehicle once you’re done charging and avoid charging up to 100% at public DC chargers. It is recommended to avoid charging beyond 80% as charging from 80-100% takes a longer time. Be considerate of other users who will need the charger to continue their journey.
If you’re a new EV user, it is recommended to download these apps to help you find and activate EV chargers for your trip. To get a better picture of the status and location of a particular charger, you can also check out PlugShare which is essentially the “Foursquare” platform for EV charging. Users can leave their feedback, provide tips and share photos to help other users in the EV community.
Besides ChargEV, there are also free DC Charging offered by JomCharge at Caltex Ayer Keroh (Northbound and Southbound) as well as TNB Electron at Ayer Keroh R&R (Northbound).
