It looks like Samsung Malaysia has finally released the 5G version of its entry-level Galaxy A14. Announced during CES 2023 week, the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G replaces the previous Galaxy A13 5G and it comes with a couple of notable improvements.
According to product listings by resellers such as Vivid Concepts and DirectD, the Galaxy A14 5G with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is officially priced at RM949. As a comparison, the LTE version with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at RM799. The Galaxy A14 5G is offered in 3 colour options – Black, Silver and Dark Red. Similar to the Galaxy A14 LTE version, the device is offered with a free one-year extended warranty.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy A14 5G comes with a 6.6″ Full HD+ 90Hz LCD display which is an improvement over the HD 720p screen on the previous model. Instead of an Exynos 850 for the LTE version, the A14 5G runs a MediaTek Density 700 chip that’s paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For taking pictures, it gets a triple-camera setup for the rear which consists of a 50MP main camera and two 2MP shooters for macro and depth. Meanwhile, the front comes with a 13MP selfie shooter.
Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery which supports 15W fast charging. The device ships with Android 13 out of the box and Samsung is promising 2 major OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates.
