The Samsung Galaxy M54 is almost exactly like the Galaxy A54, except better

Earlier this month, Samsung debuted the Galaxy A lineup for the year, namely the Galaxy A34 and the Galaxy A54. This time though, Samsung has apparently silently launched the Galaxy M54 over in the Middle East region, which looks to be a souped up version of the standard Galaxy A54.

The Galaxy M54 does share a number of similarities with the Galaxy A54. For starters, it has the same Samsung Exynos 1380 system-on-chip as the Galaxy A54, along with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage as well as expandable storage via a microSD card slot. The two phones also run Android 13 out of the box, skinned with OneUI 5.1 over it. It also has a 32MP, f/2.2 front camera housed in a punch hole cut out in front. They also share support for WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and 5G.

However, the biggest difference between the two is its size. The Galaxy M54 is packed with a larger 6.7-inch, FHD+ Super AMOLED display pushing a 120Hz refresh rate. On top of that, the Middle Eastern device also has a different camera setup on the rear, with a main 108MP, f/1.8 camera flanked by an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide shooter along with a 2MP, f/2.4 macro sensor. Keeping the lights on for the Galaxy M54 meanwhile is also a larger 6,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging.

In contrast, the Galaxy A54 has a smaller 6.4-inch, FHD+ Super AMOLED display, while on the back its camera setup is comprised of a main 50MP, f/1.8 shooter together with a 12MP, f/2.2 ultrawide and a 5MP, f/2.4 macro lens. It also has a smaller 5,000mAh battery, as well as an IP67 dust and water resistance rating which appears to be missing on the Galaxy M54.

As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy M54 has so far only debuted in the Middle East region for now, but we can expect it to make its way here later this year too. The Galaxy M53 for instance did end up being sold here, with Samsung Malaysia launching it on our shores last June for a retail price of RM1,999.
