Huawei is unveiling its P60 series and Mate X3 flagship smartphones in China next week during their Spring product launch event. Ahead of the official launch, we now get a clearer look at the Huawei P60 series flagship from both official and leaked sources.
In a Weibo post, Huawei officially unveils the P60 Pro design which comes with a unique pearl marble finish which has an oyster-shell-like pattern design for the rear. Unlike the previous Huawei P50 series flagship, Huawei is taking a more moderate approach to its camera bump design. It has a large camera lens flanked by two smaller cameras and one of them looks like a periscope telephoto camera. Similar to the Mate 50 Pro, the Huawei P60 camera uses Huawei’s own XMAGE imaging technology since the P50 is the company’s final smartphone with Leica co-developed cameras.
Serial leakster “Digital Chat Station” has also leaked more colour options for the Huawei P60 series. Besides the new marble-looking hero colour option, the flagship design is also offered in green and in light purple. From the looks of it, Huawei might be experimenting with different materials for different colours.
In terms of specs, the Huawei P60 Pro is expected to run on Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor without 5G capabilities. In terms of camera, it is said to feature a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX888), a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens (Sony IMX858) and a 64MP telephoto (OV64B Omnivision) unit that offers 3.5x optical zoom.
Since Malaysia is a key market, we expect Huawei to introduce the P60 series in Malaysia as part of its first wave of global release. In case you missed it, you can check out our camera comparison of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro versus the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
