You can now use ShopeePay to pay for your Apple App Store purchases, here’s how to do it

Shopee has announced that iPhone users can now link their ShopeePay account to their Apple ID, allowing you to pay for your App Store purchases via your ShopeePay wallet. You’ll be able to not only pay for your app purchases and subscriptions on the App Store with ShopeePay now, but also use it to pay for other Apple services in Malaysia such as Apple TV, Apple Music, iCloud storage and more.

By using ShopeePay as your Apple ID payment method, it allows you to pay for your Apple services without needing to link a credit or debit card to your account. This could be seen as a safer and more convenient payment option especially if you don’t want or don’t have a card to link to your Apple ID, as you can hook it up to ShopeePay and then use online banking to top up your ShopeePay account instead.

If you’re keen on trying out ShopeePay as a payment method for your Apple account, here’s how to do so. You’ll first need to ensure you’re running the latest version of iOS, then head over to the Settings app on your iPhone. There, tap on your Apple ID and select ‘Payment & Shipping’; you’ll be prompted to log in either via your password or Face ID. Once you’re in, you can select the option to add a payment method, and there you can select ShopeePay which will open up a webpage requiring you to log into your Shopee account.

“ShopeePay is committed to meeting the needs of users who are increasingly expecting seamless payments across all platforms. We are excited to offer ShopeePay as a convenient payment option for our customers, and expand access to digital payments, benefitting more users,” – Alain Yee, Head of ShopeePay Malaysia
