Samsung has introduced the Galaxy A14 in Malaysia, its new budget-level device which claims to offer a worry-free experience with longer software updates and extended warranty coverage. On paper, this looks like a refreshed model of last year’s Galaxy A13 and it comes pre-loaded with Samsung’s latest One UI 5.1 skin on top.
Samsung Galaxy A14 Malaysia Price
Similar to last year’s model, the new Samsung Galaxy A14 with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage is officially priced at RM799 in Malaysia. For greater peace of mind, Samsung Malaysia is offering Samsung Care+ 1 year extended warranty if you purchase the device from 15th March until 31st December 2023. The device is offered in 3 colours – Black, Dark Red and Silver and it will be sold on Samsung Malaysia’s online store.
Samsung Galaxy A14 Malaysia Specs
On paper, the Samsung Galaxy A14 seems to be mostly identical to the Galaxy A13. The biggest change is the rear design which comes with a “lenticular texture”. Upfront, it still gets a 6.6″ Full HD+ (2408×1080) PLS LCD display with a “V” notch and it runs on an Exynos 850 processor. The device comes with 6GB of RAM (expandable to 12GB with RAM Plus) and 128GB of storage which is expandable up to 1TB extra with a microSD card.
For taking pictures, the Galaxy A14 gets a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro shooter. The previous Galaxy A13 had an extra 2MP depth camera which is no longer included in the Galaxy A14. For taking selfies, Samsung has bumped the front camera from an 8MP to a 13MP shooter.
Powering the device is a large 5,000mAh battery which supports 15W fast charging via USB-C. This is a dual-SIM 4G LTE device and it supports 5GHz 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1. Also included is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which also doubles up as a power button.
Looking at the spec sheet, the Galaxy A14 box comes with a USB-C cable, a SIM ejection pin and a quick start guide. This means you won’t get a power adapter included in the box. Samsung Malaysia is promising four years of security updates and two major Android OS updates for this new budget device.
