In line with more electric vehicles (EVs) hitting Malaysian roads, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has committed to investing RM90 million in EV charging and it aims to have 10 DC fast chargers on North-South Highway by end-2023. TNBX, a renewable energy subsidiary of TNB, has so far deployed DC fast chargers at three highway R&Rs including Tapah, Paka and Ayer Keroh. The company has recently shared the locations for upcoming DC fast charging stations which will be beneficial for EV drivers travelling across Peninsular Malaysia.

As shared on Facebook, here are the 6 upcoming TNB Electron stations located at highway R&Rs:

  • Machap R&R (Southbound)
  • Rawang R&R (Northbound)
  • Gunung Semanggol R&R (Southbound)
  • Gurun R&R (Northbound)
  • Gurun R&R (Southbound)
  • Paka R&R (Southbound)

At the moment, there are three working TNB Electron stations at the following highway R&Rs:

  • Ayer Keroh (Northbound)
  • Tapah (Northbound)
  • Paka (Northbound)

Effective 1st March 2023, the TNB Electron EV chargers are no longer free and users will have to pay to charge based on per minute basis. Depending on DC charging output, they are charging RM2.05 per minute for 80kW, RM2.20 per minute for 90kW and RM2.35 per minute for 100kW. These chargers are activated via the Go To-U app which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You can use it to activate the chargers upon your arrival or book in advance for up to 7 days
