Under the helm of Elon Musk, Twitter users are able to get the verified blue tick on their profile by signing up for a Twitter Blue subscription fee. The feature is finally rolling out in Malaysia with different rates depending on your device and subscription period.

If you’re on an iOS or Android device, Twitter Blue costs RM50.00/month or you can save 13% by going for an annual plan which costs RM519.90/year. However, if you sign up on the Twitter website, it is significantly cheaper at RM35.00/month or RM369.00/year.

Besides getting the extra blue tick which gives the impression of being a genuine account, Twitter Blue claims to boost your ranking in replies and search results, as well as reduce Twitter ads on your profile by half. On top of that, Twitter Blue users will be allowed to upload longer videos with 1080p quality. Paying subscribers can also enjoy other Blue features such as Undo Tweet, Edit Tweet, Themes, Customised Icons, Bookmark folders and early access to new upcoming features.

Malaysia’s monthly subscription fees are quite close to US pricing which costs USD 11 (about RM49.70) for mobile devices and USD 8 (about RM36.14) for web. Twitter Blue costs significantly more in other countries such as the United Kingdom and Australia.

Would you pay for Twitter Blue? Let us know in the comments below.

Thanks @hiw200 for the tip!
