Transport Minister Anthony Loke has officiated a free shuttle bus service from KL Sentral to Parliament with one stop at the Perdana Botanical Gardens. According to the Minister, the free shuttle bus aims at benefiting representatives, the media and the public with official duties at Parliament.

Anthony Loke revealed that an average of 2,000 vehicles enter Parliament grounds during Parliament sessions but there are only parking spaces for 500 vehicles available. He said there were complaints of congestion with queues going up to one hour which is a great inconvenience for those with official duties.

To facilitate last-mile connection to Parliament, Rapid KL is operating a T851 shuttle bus service using mini buses from 20th February until 6th April 2023. The journey with a distance of 5 km takes approximately 15 minutes. It will have a peak frequency of 30 minutes between 7am to 10am and 4.30pm to 8pm, and a low-peak frequency of one bus per hour between 10am to 4pm.

The Transport Minister hopes that the public will be encouraged to use public transport if they see their representatives using buses. It was reported that the service is provided by Prasarana at a cost of RM800 per day for each bus. The pickup point for the T851 shuttle bus is at the ERL Departure entrance at KL Sentral and it will make a stop near the multi-storey carpark at Perdana Botanical Gardens, before reaching its final destination near the cafeteria at Parliament.
