Netflix is adding Spatial Audio support and more download devices to Premium Plan users

Amidst the controversy from them trying to restrict password sharing, Netflix has surprisingly added new features rather than take them away from their users. In a new blog post by Netflix, the streaming platform highlighted two new features coming to Netflix Premium Plan subscribers, Netflix Spatial Audio and more download devices.

Starting with the former, Netflix’s Premium Plan is already the option for users who want the best quality, with it being the only tier offering 4K HDR video playback. With the new Spatial Audio feature, Premium Plan users will also be able to enjoy a higher quality sound experience. According to Netflix, this includes an immersive, cinematic sound experience on any device without the need for any additional equipment.

Netflix’s Spatial Audio is now already available on over 700 of their most popular titles, such as Stranger Things, Wednesday, Knives Out: Glass Onion and The Watcher, with the streaming platform saying that they’ll be adding it to other popular titles as they’re released to, such as You, Your Place or Mine, Tour de France and Luther: The Fallen Sun.

On top of that, Netflix is also expanding the number of devices that can download content off the platform for offline viewing. Previously, Premium Plan users are able to download content on to up to four devices, but Netflix has expanded it to six devices now for Premium Plan subscribers.

If you want to experience Netflix Spatial Audio for yourself, Netflix’s Premium Plan will set you back RM55 per month. Alternatively, if you don’t need Spatial Audio or the need to download onto so many devices, Netflix also offers its Standard Plan at RM45 per month with 1080p playback with two simultaneous users, a Basic Plan at RM35 per month with 720p for one user at a time and a Mobile Plan at RM17 per month for 480p playback on just a single mobile device at a time.
