In case you missed it, Samsung had earlier this week confirmed that its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event will be happening on 2 February at 2am Malaysian time. However, we won’t have to wait till then to take a look at what it’ll look like, thanks to leaks of Samsung’s official marketing material of the upcoming Galaxy S23 base model.
First shown off by Roland Quandt of WinFuture, it shows the Galaxy S23 in all its glory (albeit at a rather low resolution). You can see Samsung keeping mostly the same look and design of the previous Galaxy S22, with its curved round frame and flat front and back. It also loses the camera bump surrounding the triple rear camera setup, instead going with the sleeker camera bump-less setup that we first saw on the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
You can see the four different colour options that the Galaxy S23 will come in too, namely Mystic Lilac, Botanic Green, Cotton Flower and Phantom Black.
Unfortunately, other than these marketing materials, there hasn’t been many other leaks in terms of other specifications for the base model Galaxy S23. There are some things we can expect to see though of course, such as the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips across all three models in the Galaxy S23 series; there’s also been rumour of Samsung using a ‘special edition’ Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 under the hood that’s clocked faster than the regular ones used by others. We can expect to see a 6.1-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution on the Galaxy S23 too.
In fact, this is perhaps one of the first times we’ve seen “official” Galaxy S23 marketing materials leaked out in the wild. Previously, we’ve seen posters and ads for the Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra appearing online. You can read more about that here.
