In the last couple of years, laptops have seen a renaissance period of sorts as the high resolutions and high refresh rates of external monitors have slowly made their way down to the portable form factor. Similarly, different panel types such as OLED and Mini LED have also appeared on laptops from recent years. MSI though is set to deliver what could be one of the best laptop displays yet, as they tease their upcoming Titan GT77 gaming laptop.

According to MSI, the Titan GT77 is set to be the world’s most premium laptop display, thanks in no small part to it featuring a 17.3-inch, 4K screen using an AUO AmLED Mini LED panel that’s also able to push out a 144Hz refresh rate. To be clear, 4K 144Hz displays already exist on laptops such as the Razer Blade, but the Titan GT77’s Mini LED display should push it way above in terms of visual fidelity.

For starters, the MSI Titan GT77’s display will supposedly have a 1000nits peak brightness, while also have 1008 dimming zones for reduced halo effect on high contrast scenes. The panel also features AmLED Adaptive Control technology that MSI claims will be able to dynamically adjust the visuals in real time for improved HDR. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space and has VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification too. And of course being a gaming laptop it is also capable of a 3ms response time, albeit with overdrive on.

MSI did not share much else about the Titan GT77 though, only telling us to wait till CES 2023 early next year to know more about it. Of course, we can expect it to also feature the latest hardware under the hood, which will likely involve more upcoming stuff such as next gen processors and graphics cards for mobile.
