Both the Huawei Mate 50 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have brand new camera hardware for the year. But, considering how much of the “brain” of a smartphone determines the quality of the photos, does having better hardware really make a massive difference? And which smartphone opted for the right upgrades? To find out, we put them head-to-head in a camera comparison.
At the end of the day, unless you plan to manually dial in your settings or get high-resolution raw images to do a lot of post-processing on, this fancy new tech probably won’t affect the quality of your images that much.
At least, not in a way that is immediately noticeable. Both of these phones take really nice photos, what separates them at this point has more to do with user preference than actual technical capabilities.
