You can now karaoke anywhere with new Apple Music Sing feature

Apple has today announced a new feature coming to their music streaming platform Apple Music called Apple Music Sing, which as its name suggests will allow users to sing along to their favourite songs. The Cupertino giant hopes that Apple Music Sing will be able to make their music streaming service more fun and easy for people to participate in however and whenever they choose.

Apple Music Sing will bring with it a number of features to get you to karaoke along with your favourite tunes, such as adjustable vocals which lets you take control over a song’s vocal levels. You can choose to sing with the original artists’ vocals, or you can also step back a little and become a backup singer, or maybe even perform a duet with someone else.

If you do want to sing backup, the background vocals feature will animate your vocal lines simultaneously with the main vocals, while the Duet view will help make multi-singer tracks easy to sing along too. Real-time lyrics meanwhile let you sing along with animated lyrics that will dance along to the beat.

“Apple Music’s lyrics experience is consistently one of the most popular features on our service. We already know our users all over the world love to follow along to their favorite songs, so we wanted to evolve this offering even further to enable even more engagement around music through singing. It’s really a lot of fun, our customers are going to love it,” – Oliver Schusser, Apple vice president of Apple Music and Beats

Apple Music Sing will be made available for all Apple Music subscribers across the world by the end of the year on all compatible iPhone and iPad devices along with the latest Apple TV 4K. There will be a suite of over 50 dedicated companion playlists featuring Apple’s choice of songs ranging from duets to anthems to let people try out Apple Music Sing when it launches later this month.
