One of the biggest challenges when it comes to Windows on Arm-powered devices has typically been the lack of native app support. Well, Windows on Arm users—or rather, users of Windows on Snapdragon devices will have a couple less programs to worry about, as Adobe and Qualcomm have announced that they’re going to work together to bring more of Adobe Creative Cloud onto Snapdragon-powered devices running Windows.

Right now, Windows on Snapdragon users can already get Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom natively on their machines, but Adobe doesn’t want to stop there. Users will soon be able to download and use Adobe Fresco and Adobe Acrobat natively on their Window on Arm device. Adobe is also making use of the dedicated on-device Qualcomm AI Engine on Snapdragon platforms to give users an enhanced experience with features such as super-resolution, background removal and colour enhancement.

“Adobe is driving creativity and document productivity forward and our products come to life on technology platforms that are built for performance and scale.

Designers, creatives and knowledge workers using Snapdragon powered devices can look forward to working with our flagship products including innovative and powerful Adobe Sensei AI technologies as they define a new era of digital experiences across surfaces and new creative mediums, – Govind Balakrishnan, Adobe SVP of Creative Cloud Products and Services

Adobe and Qualcomm are also working together on extended reality-driven authoring and consumption workflows powered by Snapdragon Spaces XR Developer Platform for VR/MR headsets and AR glasses. This sees things like Adobe’s 3D and immersive tools expanded from smartphones and PCs to XR products via Snapdragon Spaces, so that creators can craft an immersive experience that’s spatially aware in headworn glasses. End users will also be able to view and interact with Adobe 3D and immersive content in a deeper way too.

Furthermore, Adobe is also looking to expand the availability of their Adobe Aero AR authoring and publishing tool onto Snapdragon-powered smartphones too. Right now, the suite of tools for building augmented reality experiences is only available on iOS devices.
