WhatsApp beta now lets beta users link their accounts to a secondary phone and an Android tablet. Called the “companion mode”, the feature lets users connect up to four Android devices at once.
Available on WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.22.24.18, you would also get to access all the regular WhatsApp features and message encryption in addition to the companion mode. If you’ve signed up for WhatsApp beta, here’s how to access the feature.
The app will sync your chat history on your secondary device, just like how WhatsApp on your desktop works. However, since the feature is currently in beta, some features are currently unavailable—being able to view live locations and manage broadcast lists and stickers.
The mode is most useful if you’re a person who uses an iPhone as your primary device, but has an Android tablet or secondary phone. However, since it’s only in beta mode for now, you might need to wait a while longer for it to show up on your device if you’re not a beta user.
