Microsoft announces that you can now pre-order the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 in Malaysia. Pre-orders start today, 8 November 2022, until 28 November.

Importantly, Surface and Windows helped removed barriers, empowering us to connect, create, work, learn, and play in ways that are new and natural,” shared Azizah Ali, Chief Marketing and Operations Officer of Microsoft Malaysia.
Surface Pro 9
As Raymond mentioned when the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 was first revealed, their latest flagship tablet now offers both a regular Intel-powered version as well as one with an ARM-powered processor (Surface Pro 9 with 5G). In both options, Microsoft claims that users will be getting “the same iconic Surface Pro form, great performance, all-day battery life, and Secured-core capabilities”.
For the display, the Surface Pro 9 lineup has a 13-inch, 2880 x 1920p PixelSense Flow display in a 3:2 aspect ratio. It offers 10-point multitouch support, adaptive colour, a contrast ratio of 1200:1 and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 over it too for scratch resistance. You’ll also be able to use the Surface Slim Pen 2 stylus with it, along with the Surface Pro keyboard.
The Surface Pro 9 can last up to 15.5 hours of battery life, while the Surface Pro 9 with 5G can last up to 19 hours of use. There’s also Windows Hello authentication using the front-facing FHD webcam, with an additional 10MP camera on the rear.
The tablets packs a pair of 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a dual far field studio microphone setup. They also both have the Surface Connect port for charging.
The Surface Pro 9 will come in Forest, Platinum, Sapphire, and Graphite colourways, with the Surface Pro 9 only available in Platinum. The prices start from RM5,299, but you can refer to the table below for a more detailed price list.
Surface Laptop 5
Microsoft is also offering two different versions of the Surface Laptop 5—a 13.5-inch, 2256 x 1504p PixelSense Display laptop, and a 15-inch, 2496 x 1664p PixelSense Display laptop. Both versions have support for 10-point multitouch and Dolby Vision IQ and a 3:2 aspect ratio.
The larger Surface Laptop 5 has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for scratch resistance. The smaller the 13.5-inchers have Gorilla Glass 5 for models with a metal keyboard finish, but those with an Alcantara finish have a layer of the Gorilla Glass 3 instead.
The Surface Laptop 5 laptops will only come with 12th Gen Intel Core options. They offer up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB of SSD storage along with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics.
For battery life, the smaller Surface Laptop 5 can last up to 18 hours, and the larger one gets up to 17 hours of use. They have a 720p front facing camera with Windows Hello, omnisonic stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a dual far-field studio microphone setup. You cal also find a 3.5mm audio jack, a Surface Connect port for charging, a USB-A 3.1 port, a USB-C 4.0 port, and support for WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
The Surface Laptop 5 is built of aluminum, and comes in either Matte Black, Platinum, Sage or Sandstone colourways. The laptops are priced from RM5,299, but you can refer to the table below for a more detailed price list.
