The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may have a tough Ceramic Shield for the front glass, but it could still break when dropped onto hard surfaces. If there’s the unfortunate need to replace the entire new display, it’s gonna cost a lot and you could be paying as much as an iPhone 11 or the 3rd gen iPhone SE.
The display replacement for the 6.7″ iPhone 14 Pro Max costs RM1,999 at Machines or RM2,000 at Switch. Meanwhile, for the smaller 6.1″ iPhone 14 Pro, it will cost you RM1,699 at Machines and RM1,700 at Switch. For the same amount of money, you could pretty much buy a brand-new entry-level iPhone. As a comparison, the iPhone 11 or an iPhone SE is often spotted selling for around or less than RM2,000 during online sales.

If you don’t want to fork out a lot of money for screen damage, it is probably a good idea to put on a case for added protection. If you’re still thinking of buying an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, take note that it is harder to find available stock due to factory lockdown and supply challenges. At the moment, Apple’s online store can ship the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus immediately, while the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are now showing an estimated shipping duration of 4-5 weeks.
In case you’re curious, the screen replacement on a Galaxy Fold device would cost a lot more than an iPhone. According to Samsung Malaysia’s website, the Galaxy Z Fold 4‘s inner screen costs RM2,291 while the cover display costs a lot less at RM626. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 4‘s inner screen costs RM1,441 and the outer screen costs RM446. The flat display on the Galaxy S22 series costs a lot less to replace at RM1,130 for the S22 Ultra, RM820 for the Galaxy S22+ and RM800 for the standard S22.
